The pieces are made of wood and I'm haply to say they seem pretty solid. I was worried they would break easily, but that hasn't been the case.
This is a great game for kids or adults that teaches concentration as they have to focus to find the correct size and color pieces to create the picture.
It comes with different cards for different skill levels and then you place a card in the wooden slot and create the picture. Or your child can free play and create what they wish.
This is great Montessori style for teaching letters to children. It also helps with problem solving, pattern recognition and following instructions. It comes with a bag, some pattern cards, a stand for the cards and the wooden pieces. I wish there were 3 lengths of the straight stick as just the short and long make for some strange formations of letters but I'm happy with it nonetheless.
This is a great learning toy - made of wood, lightweight with soft surface -my 3 year old granddaughter loves playing with it
